3 night backpacking trip in October

Looking at going up around Payson this weekend (or really anywhere three hours or less from Phoenix with flowing water for filtering). We will be leaving Friday afternoon and coming back sometime on Monday. We generally always wind up going to Horton creek and camping there, but I'd like something new.

There is just two of us and this is probably our 6th or 7th backpacking trip. We are in pretty good shape but generally this is more about hiking for a few miles, finding a good spot for a few days and relaxing. As I said above we have a water filter so we would be hiking in with minimal water and filtering from flowing water close by.

Any suggestions? Thank you so much in advance.

Lots of options:
Cabin Loop / Houston Brothers Trail
Fossil Creek
West Clear Creek
Wet Beaver Creek
Haigler Creek upstream of the campground and Fisherman's Point
Reynolds Creek
Workman Creek
Chevelon Canyon
Canyon Creek downstream from the campgrounds
Kinder Crossing or Horse Crossing

Type any of these into Find ( top of any page ) for links to the guide descriptions, photos, gps tracks, etc.

I'm looking for a good solo through hike (loop) for a 4 day 3 night sometime in October. Any suggestions?

Can be 3 day 2 night. I just need some fresh air and silence, lol.
