Welcome to HAZ - hang on for the ride and have fun perusing the site. You will usually find a group going hiking just about every weekend and more often than that during peak season (right now).
Don't be affraid to jump into any of the discussions either. And if you can pick on Hoolie (evenstarXs) then so much the better.
Enjoy!

Welcome to HAZ Scott!
Those are some nice photos. I particularly enjoyed the Bear Creek Mountain Summit with Ranier in the Distance. Also, those ash pictures are simply amazing.
Good to see a little bit of Arizona there on Bear Creek Mountain.

wow!
whenever I join forums it seems nobody is ever really that receptive.
cool to see such a busy forum though~
Yeah I am gonna pay attention to the organized hikes in here and hopefully tag along on some of them soon. I graduated from U. of Pittsburgh last winter and just been sorta takin it easy since then.
Its is kind of funny though that the only hike I did here was Bear mountain and I have pictures of Bear CREEK mtn. on my online photos.
;)
Cheers~

There's another Bear Mountain over in the Blue Range Primitive Area, south of Alpine. I haven't hiked it yet, but its on the list.

That's a good hike, and there's a seasonal ranger station there with a killer lookout tower that you can climb o enjoy the sunset.

Welcome to AZ, I am pretty new myself. I also moved from Pittsburgh earlier this year from near Monroeville. Where in Pitsburgh did you move from? I went to Penn State, so although i am from there I don't have much love for U of Pitt....lol.

Hey Dennis~
thats a funny coincidence. I lived in the oakland area mainly. I am not originally from pittsburgh, but moved there in 1996 for college. I lived there about 7 years and then decided to take a little hiatus from the east out here in AZ.
I am not much of a fan of PSU either my friend... ;)
Thats cool though, glad that PAers are checking out the west.
