I usually write an article, sometimes several, for the little magazine, White Mountain Outdoors. Here's my latest:

Interesting. :) Another possibility is that someone else named "T. Roosevelt" carved it. Check the clerk of courts for area residents back then ... :-k

Yeah, someone did suggest that idea. But if that were the case, I would have thought the historical society people would have known about it when I asked them about it. But who knows?

Great article! I am sure at one time there was more interest but as the trail went cold so did the interest and thus, a forgotten topic.

The final speculation is interesting. I think aspens should remain strictly non-partisan, but I guess not everyone agrees.

Oh you are such a wag! :D

I am just looking forward to the $50 check they'll send me ($50 per article, no matter how long or how many photos, etc.)
