Hiker from the valley reported missing while on a day hike from Peralta Traihead on 2/16. Friend reported him missing today, was planning a trip out their this evening and I would image the trailhead is closed though.

I hope it's no worse than an unplanned night out.

We were there yesterday, passed a group of four who didn't look like they were doing so well, waited a few times for them but didn't see them again. We left word with the guys doing surveys at the TH.

Good! It sounds like he's a little the worse for wear. I hope more information will be published.

News reported this am about a woman that was reported missing from the same trail head. Also reported that she was the same woman that went missing back in Dec. looking for the Lost Dutchmans gold.

Three strikes and you're out?
http://www.azfamily.com/news/Female-hik ... 26471.htmlOn Dec. 10, she got lost while searching for the fabled Lost Dutchman's Gold Mine. She was missing for about 24 hours before search-and-rescue crews found her.

I have found that most people are incredibly poor directions providers ...

It's hard to know what to make of the directions part of the story. Did she really give them wrong directions, or did the other hikers misinterpret what she said or make another error of their own?
Anyway, it seems like prime time for getting lost.
