HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Things are cooling down up here in Prescott Valley. Ran my four miles mid-afternoon under cloud cover, in the drizzle and the temp sign on Robert and Lakeshore Roads reading 37 degrees. In the distance the Mingus and the Bradshaw is shrouded with low hanging gray clouds. Winter is working its way down in our neck of the woods, with the smell of wood smoke in the air giving me a comfortable, cozy feeling with Thanksgiving just around the corner. And with that, I would like to say I hope everyone here has a happy, fun, safe Thanksgiving. :)

Yes, everyone have a wonderful holiday weekend. If all goes well I'll be spending 3 days at Chevlon Creek. If not, I guess it's Christmas shopping for me! Happy Holiday! :)

My wife and I are going for a "practice" backpack trip from First Water TH on Friday morning. She's never been backpacking before and she has all new gear. So, we'll need to walk off all that turkey and stuffing

clink, clink, clink... I would like to propose a toast, if I may (as she raises her glass of champagne in her left hand, and her bottle of beer in the right!!)

"From the bottom of my pumpkin pie heart... I feel truly blessed and lucky to have discovered such a warm and wonderful place as HAZ. I have met some really terrific folks, and have enjoyed sharing my hiking experiences w/ everyone. It is a pleasure to be a part of this "family" and of the friendships. And for these things, I am thankful not just today, but everyday. So, in the spirit of gravy... Happy Turkey, Mashed Potatoes, and Stuffing Day to all!! Enjoy, be careful, be safe... and let's eat!!"

:D :D :D

Yep. Everyone ---- Enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday! Lots to be thankful for - and lots to remember to be thankful for. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays.

I don't know how many of you are believers in a supreme being, but if you are read on...

Usually when we pray, we find ourselves asking more than thanking - or at best an even mix of the two. Try pausing for a while and say a prayer of nothing but thanks. It will likely be the longest and most heartfelt prayer you've ever said.

And even if you don't believe in a higher power - just sit down and try to write a list of all the things you're thankful for. It will humble you and make your realize just how good you have it. That list also becomes a great pick-me-up in times of difficulty.

Just a thought.

On a more mundane, post-Thanksgiving note:

GAAH! I can't move! No, no more turkey, please! Oh bluh, I have to lie down! I feel like Mr. Creosote! (Any Monty Python fans out there?)

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

A Mr. Creosote reference without the famous line. That's impressive. Most people just remember his line. Good ol' Terry Gilliam.
