Hiking Skirts

A hiking friend of mine in Tucson convinced me to try out one of the skirts she makes for hiking. They are really cute, none of your khaki or olive drab boring old stupid colors, they are bright Hawaiian prints, and are made with a durable quick dry fabric. They have two cargo pockets. How refreshing to NOT wear olive drab or khaki!

I first wore the skirt to hike Aravaipa, and then I wore it to Hellsgate. At first I felt sort of naked, but I soon came to feel it was the most comfortable thing I had ever worn for hiking! It isn't going to be suitable for thorny bushwhacking but is great for summer trails, and creek-wading hikes such as Aravaipa and Hellsgate. The pockets hold my camera, chapstick, bandanna, etc.

She also designs many other types of clothing, including bicycling skirts.

I wouldn't.. [-( As bad as my legs get torn up hiking in AZ, wearing a kilt the way they are supposed to be worn sounds terrifying :scared: ... well...at least painful
