Planning on a solo overnighter, or maybe two nights, in October. Is that a good time of year to go, or would March be better?

March for sure. The falls will only be a trickle in October. Go as early as possible in March. They tend to peak in February.

October is a crapshoot in terms of weather, but there are some weekends it would be enjoyable. March is more consistent and would also be good. The falls run stronger after the winter Hope you post a triplog!
