Shipman Fire

SR 177 is closed until further notice near Kearny, due to the Shipman Fire....
From ADOT Log:
closed due to serious fire
Location On State Route 177, NS-bound from mile post 143.0, 2.20 miles South of KEARNY to mile post 146.0, 0.70 miles North of KEARNY
Duration from Mon, 8 Jul 2013 5:33 PM Until Further Notice
The Fire was reportedly at about 100 acres 2 hours ago...Haven't heard about any further updates....There are ongoing evacuations....

If you are driving to the west end of Aravaipa, you will want to route through Globe ...

I drove up sr79 from Tucson to Florence yesterday afternoon and I couldn't see any smoke off towards Kearny. Good sign.
