Final paving on State Route 260 scheduled to begin today with work expected to continue through the weekend

Final paving will occur on State Route 260 at Doubtful Canyon (mileposts 269 to 272) starting Thursday, Sept. 12 through the weekend until Tuesday, Sept. 17.

The roadway will be narrowed to one lane in each direction to allow crews to apply the final layer of asphalt through the Doubtful Canyon widening project. Work hours are 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily and drivers can expect minimal delays.

In addition to the paving work at Doubtful Canyon, Bear Flat Access Road (Forest Service 405A) will be closed to all traffic for resurfacing starting Monday, Sept. 16 at 8 a.m. will reopen on Friday, Oct. 4 at 4 p.m.

This section of the 260 has been one lane during construction all summer long. There was no delay today anymore then there has been for the past few months
