Err, uh Hermit to the Tonto up Bright Angel...5am start, day hiking it, with a post hike margarita at BA, anyone gonna be in the GC area and wanna join me?

That's sort of a long hike, isn't it? About 24 miles. I'm not in shape for it right now. Too much typing (going to school) plus 40-hour job.

Yes, sort of. 24 miles or so, 12 hour day tops. No takers? Meh, guess that means I can start later and go faster!

Hanging out with my Backcountry friends today after work they mentioned a spot open at Granite Rapids...so, guess I'll stay there tomorrow night! 
good, gives me more time to explore and find all the neat stuff along the trails...

Nice hike to get there. I've hiked down to Monument Creek camp and also have hiked UP to Monument creek Camp, last year. Rowed Granite Rapids, too! That was the biggest one I rowed last year. Good luck, Hippy - that's a big hike, whether you do it in 2 days or 1. But SO beautiful. And I bet the Tonto is still super green...

@writelots it was a blast! Tonto still green, not too hot, maybe 90 during the day 60 at night. River is mud brown. Ah good weekend, post triplog n pics tonight.
