Castle Creek - Twin Peaks Loop
- 15 mi / 4.5k aeg
- some of the worst catclaw on earth for a few miles, possibly clipped since last checked... bring pants
- may be up to an additional 8.4 mi / 0.5k aeg road hiking if the road is bad

Save Twin Peaks for me.... I have a score to settle out there .... Besides, no one else would be that stupid.

I can't this weekend, but Lane Mtn is a great area with great views. As is the back road, but the only time that is fun to hike is when something happens to your vehicle (or somebody else's who is blocking the road) and you gotta get to the saloon for relief. ;)

Very interested in "meeny", the Castle Creek hike. It's been on my wish list for awhile. If you decide to tackle that one, let me know when and where and I'll be there.

Any chance of being able to find out about this ahead of time?

I don't see any indications searching google. Bruce and I were stopped by a river last time. I don't think that was normal based on multiple satellite images. The question after that is multiple creek crossings. Looks good on satellite and I'm guessing chances are favorable but can't say for sure.

The drive to the top is long, bumpy and not much quicker than hiking. Also due to the season I'd rather hike up in the cool morning and down in the heat of the day.
