Somewhere, 11/16 - ???

I haven't picked a spot yet, but I thought I'd get this out there. I'll be wheels down in PHX on Friday night (11/15) and don't have to be out until Tuesday night (11/19). I might break it into a couple trips, at least one in the Supes.

I know Pam was there earlier this year, but would you object to doing a version of Charlebois Loop II? I need to have another go at finding the pictographs along Red Tanks. I'd also like to either take a short side trip to Upper Labarge Box or deeper than I've been into Trap Canyon.

I will be living in CA by then. Hopefully. But put myself as "interested" because I might go to Pierce Ferry sometime that week to see the high flow level. (The Bureau of Wreck-the-Nation is planning on a 37,200 cfs "experimental release" and I want to see it, even if only at Pierce Ferry. Pierce Ferry rapid should look ferocious, and the ramp will be covered.) Anyway, I might be in AZ that week, unless I am employed by then.

I will let you know!

Dang! You are doing like the exact same itinerary as me, except I am going in for three days Vet-day weekend...Hey but if you don't mind, I might still meet you out there, we seem to share a common interest in Supers..also I am sure you got it covered, but I have some data for those petraglyphs and another less-known site in area...

Those petroglyphs near Charlebois Spring? I looked for those one time using very bad directions. Never did find them.

I don't think there's any other kind. I know of at least one place friendofThundergod might be referring to. I have some pics on another hard drive somewhere. That place is also pictured in at least one Dutchman book I've seen.

Okay, so, I didn't invent it. I wouldn't admit that ;) , but someone else on this board probably has read Katie Lee. I think ol' Ed Abbey actually came up with the term, though.

Ok so I messed up my days, thought I had a three day weekend, but I dont...so probably wont be much use for this hike, other than a random bump in on trail. I will probably go out in some capacity, but will probably do some out and back hike.

I will be doing a really easy hike with some casual hikers to the usual areas during vet weekend, Charlebois, maybe Marsh Valley, or Red Hills area, however, I really want to go to a place called Brad's Water, not spectacular, but interesting, its past the Upper Labarge Box, if I cant get anyone to go during Vet-Day weekend, I will be doing that when you are in area as a long out and back or big loop utilizing Red Tanks to Coffee Flats...

It may not have potential for big discoveries, but its a nice place to know for future reference, always water, but probably not as cool as the loop your are talking about, if you are interested though let me know..

@friendofThundergod OK, we'll stay tuned. I'll be on the road the preceding weekend and much of the intervening week, so I won't be able to make that trip. If you come across some old, slow people taking too many pictures, it will probably be us.

What's the plan for Sunday? I'm thinking about heading to LaBarge after work on Saturday but I would get to camp late. Probably 8-9pm.

I'm thinking of stopping in Trap Canyon Saturday night and winding up at Charelbois Sunday night. My big goal for Sunday is not missing the petroglyphs.

If you miss seeing the master map stop by my home in Apache Junction as I have a 20" by 30" poster size picture of it along with some other scenes in the Superstitions.

I refuse to miss it! You should have seen me the last time I was there. I wore down the rocks pacing upstream and down scouring the banks to no avail. I think I covered the stretch from LaBarge to Charlebois six times over. As the sun sank in the sky, I went faster and faster and got so tired I hardly wanted to eat dinner. It must have been sitting there like the glasses on my forehead, utterly undetectable.

One of the best hidden in nearly plain sight objects on earth. Missed them on eight trips before checking them off, with help...lol
Good luck in those world class mountains!
