Filaria Springs / Hill 3464 Loop (Superior)

I am thinking of doing a loop ( http://hikearizona.com/map.php?MY=6397&M=6 ) along Telegraph Canyon Rd to Rock Tank, then up a trail to Filaria Springs, the saddle above the springs -- where it meets the Wood Canyon Rim Loop (see attached image) -- then up to Hill 3464, traverse the mesa rim for good views of Picketpost and Telegraph Canyon, to what looks like a constructed/built (Anasazi?) wall, then pick a way down to the trailhead. 6.0 miles and 1200 AEG acording to the route, so in reality probably 7.0 miles and 1500 AEG. It will be on jeep/foot trail to the saddle, then x-country from there. (The foot trail from the Wood Canyon TH continues over the saddle to Rock Tank.) If there is a comfortable way up the Hill 3012 knob, may take a crack at that too.

Looking for one or two extra folks.

Meet up 0700 at Buckboard City Cafe; hike start at 0800. Looking at either 3/13 (Thu) or 3/15 (Sat), depending on what fits in other folks' schedule.

Here is a photo of the route from the saddle to the top of the Hill 3464 mesa:

Anybody who didn't sign up -- and SpiderLegs will back me up on this -- you missed out. What I thought was a wall, was: Several hundred yards long, and as high as five feet. In addition, we found multiple other walls in nearly as good a condition. You will definitely want to do this hike after I get a description posted ... :D

Does sound very intriguing, I would think Salado however, not Anasazi...no chance it was a drift fence? I guess pictures will help solve mystery..I did check out that satellite imagery though, definitely a wall, cool find nevertheless...pm me a photo..lol

My other theory is maybe a picket line, isnt that in prime Indian Wars area? Certainly fits the description of a picket line...

Picket - An advance outpost or guard for a large force was called a picket. Ordered to form a scattered line far in advance of the main army's encampment, but within supporting distance...you certainly know how quick a company full of bored soldiers could build a wall ;)

This is way, way bigger than any cavalry unit would have hastily improvised, and unlikely they would have been on top of a hill defending against Indians below. (Indians would have been smart enough to bail ...) :D
