Lessons of History

For those of you who may be new to America's War Games, it is vitally important to become a student of history. Remember the shopworn cliche, "Those who fail to learn the lessons of history are doomed to repeat their mistakes."

America has "been here done that" a lot of times in the past. The scenario being played out in Iraq is errily similar to themes that date back into the late 18th Century! No kidding. Do a little research and delve into your dust-covered history books and see how the New Nation that evolved following the Revolutionary War portrayed its enemies. You can see some direct similarities between the Barbary Pirates and old what's-his-name in Iraq. Fast forward to the war of your choice. It doesn't make much difference. The role of the gov't media people is to vilify the enemy.
It's that simple. Pick a war. Pick an enemy. The results are always the same.

That said, are you SURE there's no good hiking in Iraq?
