Is there a HAZfest this year

Perhaps Inner Basin?

I think the first thing called a hazfest was organized as a photo workshop and held in the fall near the peaks. I've planned a couple since then. I think hippy has planned a couple backpacking hazfests at reavis too.
Like everything else on HAZ, fests are member driven. No single person is in charge of anything. If you want to organize an event, pick a date and location, post it here. I have a feeling people will show up!

Where would you host a HAZfest, if you chose to have one?

@ElliotAlford
If you do decide to organize HAZfest, I probably wouldn't recommend Lockett Meadow/Inner Basin. The Lockett Meadow campground is fee-use (per car), first-come first-serve, and only has 17 sites. Not conducive to the crowds that HAZfest has drawn in the past. As far as Inner Basin for a backpacking destination - that isn't legal. No camping in Inner Basin.
Plenty of other dry camping around Flag!

What about a Pinaleno location? August 2nd and 3rd I am off. Could be severely wet, though. Until the monsoon is gone, weather is tricky. You guys got lucky last year.

Dispersed Camping in the Pinalenos can be had in some spots, but not a lot of areas that could handle a large contingent of people nicely....

I need to get over there at some point, and need an excuse, but I think monsoon season is not when I should go. I'm not in to getting wet, and I need a new tent.
The greater Flagstaff area is probably best. The rim is a second, but being nearer to Flag helps with food, and lodging if people want that. Below 5,500 to 6,000' is probably not a good bet until the end of September or so, as the heat will be unpleasant, so Sedona, and many other locations are out. Unless I go next week, maybe I shall take a trip to Flag in September. Not sure if I would host a "fest", as I'm not really a host type of guy. Besides that, who would want to come on one of my outings?

I'm not in the situation to host, but I was thinking that there are some good dispersed camping options in the Kaibab just south of the GC (Hull Cabin area). Currently the Inner Canyon dayhikes are doable with the monsoon cooling the temps every afternoon. Easy access to dayhikes on Grandview, New Hance, and Tanner and even over to easier/cooler 7000'+ stuff like Red Butte or Shoshone Point.

Not to be confused with Fat Denny!

I like the Piñalenos, but I doubt a HAZfest held there would attract much of a crowd, since it is quite a long drive for almost everyone in Arizona. It might be a bit unmanageable.

Flag to the GC is a good location. I think the location of last year's fest was very good.

If you're thinking the Flagstaff area again, I think a Fall Fest would be great this Year...

I work weekends, so you'll be spared my company. ;) Besides, I don't drink and I go to bed at 9 p.m., so what fun is that?

@friendofThundergod
You'll have to get permission from Janet and Chrissy first ;)
But Larry has an open invite at his place, and he has a clothing-optional pool!

Well, if you go too late, it is getting cold. I recall the first time I camped out of Flag was early October on 2006, and it was 19 that night.
