Was but have been to busy to respond. Faithful dogs and dogs in need of faithful friends always touch my heart. As a teenager (14) my cousin and I saved our dog Pug from drowning in the flooding Minnesota river. We did it of course at the peril of our own lives by my cousin crawling out on the trunk of an small tree overhanging the swollen river. I right behind him with one foot still on the ground. When Pug came rushing by we grabbed him by the hair and as we began to pull him up out of the water the tree leaned even more closer to the level of the water. Had the roots given away we would have drowned along with Pug in the fast swollen river. After successfully extracting Pug we rested on the grassy bank of that river and realized how close we came to losing our own lives and we often reflect on it again and again. My cousin is the one that I have told about on other posts about his home steading property in Alaska. Here is a short video telling that story. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4uurXp8aOps

Actually they do as pilots from Canada and the United States as well use his landing field as a stop over place as they tour Alaska. They never know when and who will be knocking on their door. Their guest book has some interesting comments and names....
