So, a Pelican catches a Whopper of a Fish and couldn't quite swallow his Prize...He was literally choking to death... One of our Members, known as Tortoise Hiker (aka Denny) knows someone out there and that person just happened to come along at the Right Time and helped save the Day....Just thought I would post this with a big Kudos...The Tortoise keeps good Company!

Quote from the Photographer's Post:
Photo Posted with Permission from the Photographer, Ian Cassell....As I walked down the main road at Tres Rios early this morning, I came across Mike (Eppert?) and Lisa of Phoenix Water Services wrestling with a White Pelican who had managed to get a large Talapia stuck in its throat and was having respiratory difficulty and was weakening rapidly. The fish was VERY large (wish I had images) and was hooked in the poor bird's throat by the spines on its fins which were acting like barbs. After much maneuvering and by trying to cut the fish up while it was still lodged, we were finally able to get it out. The bird recovered rapidly and, with a running start, took off again. I don't have many pics as I had my long lens mounted, but here's one. They have cell phone pix of bird, fish, etc.
