The itinerary for the Valley Leisurely Pace Hikers outing for Saturday, March 1, 2003 has been modified. Rather than the Bluff Springs Loop, we will hike a section of the Dutchman trail, starting from, and returning to, the Peralta trailhead. Friendly, considerate guest hikers are cordially invited to accompany us. We hike at an average pace of one mile per hour. Full details on VLPH and its scheduled hikes, are available by email. We think it's great that you know your group's hiking pace and clearly advertise it!
We've always thought that "pace of travel" is the one key element that can really bring a group of people together. We've hiked with people of varying speeds and such hikes always tend to separate people into little groups, in essense, sorted by personal speed.

Group hiking is such a wonderful social exercise and it's great when everyone is ambulating at more or less the same pace. A 1-mph pace is perfect for chatting, taking pictures and enjoying Nature's Beauty!

We'd like to join you but, alas, we are stuck up here in the Sedona-Beaver Creek area!

Even though our normal pace is 2 mph, it would be fun to travel with a group of people dedicated to preserving the inherent Civility of One Mile Per Hour!

Hike on!
