Cairns Cairns Cairns!

A recent NPR article addresses this issue, and was raised following an opinion column written by NAU senior lecturer Robyn Martin. (possibly a pseudonym for BobP ?)

Money Quote
"Yes, I have knocked a few down, sure," she says, adding that she considers the cairns "pointless reminders of human ego."
Interesting to note that this topic is more widespread than just here on HAZ.
(Previously discussed in a HAZ Forum Thread on LNT Ethics.)

What's a "senior lecturer"? An old person who talks incessantly?? Hey, maybe that can be my next profession. Then I too can be a "pointless reminder of human ego".

From NAU writing for NPR? So is this a case of the stoned talking about the stacked?

I've knocked down more than a few. I have built a very select few. Not a big fan of rock stacks.

Do the NAU professors have a reputation for being stoners? Reason I ask is when I summited Kendrick, there was a person who I believe was an NAU professor that reeked of ganja and patchouli. He also had a bear bell and when I asked him about it said it was a prayer bell...

When I attended there for a while, I found them to be the same as at the University of Florida. If there were any on any drugs or whatever, they hid it completely. Most were climbing the academic ladder.

Next videos are based on the viewing habits of the individual. Because google knows everything. That's apparently a topic of interest to those who use the computer you are using.

My next video was an instructional guide on how to function while drinking at work. :?

I knew I would leave myself open for that one, but if the spiderbots were really tracking me it would have linked me to bacon addiction.

I'm kind of partial to that time in band camp I mean Reavis Ranch when Joe found a machete and terrorized apples. We visited the cairn that marks Reavis' grave just to stay on topic.

But did they have a bell while they were climbing that ladder?

@Jason Cleghorn Yup, shocking, I know. I graduated April 30, 2004. I lived off of SW 27th St, in Lexington Crossing Apartments, near Campus Lodge, if you remember that place.

Ok I went to the Manitou Arts festival today and took a look into Fountain Creek which not only runs through my backyard, but runs through the town of Manitou. Would it be frowned on if I threw rocks at these?

Not as long as you kept score and published the results. ;)
Maybe you and Bob could create your own teams to compete in this venture. :y:
