Campsites Near Calloway Trail

Looking to take my kids backpacking to West Clear Creek down the Calloway Trail. Are there various campsite options down there (like within a mile of the trail terminus)? There will be 2 adults and 5 kids. Just want to avoid getting down there and finding out there are one 1 or 2 spots and they're taken.

Thanks!

Calloway is a tougher one for Camping at the Bottom I think. Might want to PM Almal and see what he says. I think he Backpacks that one occasionally when he goes Fishing down there.

Once you get down to the creek, head downstream about a quarter mile to where the creek bends right. Across the creek is a decent established campsite (see photo), about the only one I know of in the area. Seven people may be pushing it though. You won't be able to put up a large tent, but there are several reasonably flat places to squeeze people into for sleeping.

Thank you both! It sounds like it's pretty sparse, but I'll PM Almal.

Any thoughts on Kinder Crossing as an alternative? Seems like that is the de facto beginners backpacking trail, so I'm wondering if it has more camping options...

Kinder Crossing would be an excellent introduction to backpacking for your kids, with plenty of camping options.

After chatting with ALMAL I realized I had the wrong trail. It was the Point Trail that my friend hiked and wanted to take the kids to. Sounds like it's a good road in there and numerous camp sites. So that's the plan. Thanks, as usual, for all the comments! None of the suggested options here are in vain: Those will be reserved for future trips!
