For GPSjoe - 5 yr Anniversary at Mt. Peeley TH

The week of 11/8/15 will mark the five year anniversary of our HAZ- GPSjoe's (Joseph S. Domin) hiking disappearance in from the Tonto National Forest- Mazatal Wilderness- Mount Peeley TH.
Joe's son, Christian Domin from Chicago, IL, will be visiting this week of 11/8/15 for his possible last AZ trip visit. Christian would like to extend his personal family invitation to all those HAZ and other GPSjoe friends, acquaintances, and so many concerned who offered assistance along with those committed many who helped over the past five years to search for clues in his dad's disappearance. Those who did not have any association with GPSjoe but out of respect would like to be a part of this event, are also welcome to attend.
This now planned Mount Peeley TH visit on Sat-11/14/15 (partial details below to be later revised in more detail a/r) is an opportunity for us as a friends group and for Christian to again say goodbye to further his Domin family closure in an informal way. Also, an informal way for us to personally meet Christian and to share memorable GPSjoe memories with him.

.. Meet time: 9:30am
..Meet location for most Vehicle Parking and Vehicle Group Caravan Staging for drive to the Mount Peeley TH:
A short drive up FR201 to the 11/16/10 MCSAR HDQRS- GPSjoe Base Search Location (Please Note: detailed Driving Directions and GPS Route (to download) to this parking/caravan staging location are posted below)
..Group Caravan departs Staging Area for Mount Peeley TH: ~10:00am
..Group Caravan arrives Mount Peeley TH: ~10:30am to 10:45am
..Informal Group at Mount Peeley TH: to ~12:noon (then a/r group caravan drives back to lower FR201 Parking Area)
..Weather at the Mount Peeley TH area (~5600ft elev) in mid-November can be a problem http://hikearizona.com/photoset.php?ID=17407 and the last ~1.5 mile drive up FR201 can be iced in some sections.
..If Mother Nature does not cooperate for our Sat-11/14, then we will hold this informal event at the lower FR201 Parking Area for a 10:00am arrival/start.. TBD at a later date.
..The Mount Peeley TH area with limited parking is of course a Tonto National Forest "general public access area". We will need to be considerate of other visitors needed parking and access to this TH area.
DRIVING DIRECTIONS:
GPS Route (from Hwy 87 at Mile Post 222.5 Sycamore Creek Exit NW): http://hikearizona.com/map.php?MY=15037&M=6
On Hwy 87 at ~MP222.5 exit NW onto blacktop old FR627 (not signed as such). Proceed NW mostly downhill on this blacktop for exactly 1.20 miles to the start of FR201 (gravel/dirt) a right turn (North) crossing a cattle guard onto FR201; From Hwy 87 it is a total of 3.0 miles to our GPsjoe Event-"Vehicle Parking and Vehicle Group Caravan Staging Location"
