More than likely, he's talking about thru-hiking the entire trail.

You sound like a speedster- 25 miles a day type. Liz and I are starting on March 10 or thereabouts and probably will be doing about 1/2 of that per day. More details about you would be helpful.
Liz and Trew are two retired people.
