arizona trail closure near flagstaff

from the arizona trail newsletter:
Due to forest thinning activities the Coconino National Forest has closed a portion of the Arizona Trail's Equestrian Bypass (beginning of Passage 34) between the Weatherford Trailhead and the AZT west of Schultz Pass Road. Portions of the Weatherford Trail and Secret Trail have also been closed. To see a map of the closure areas, please click here.
To avoid the closure area, simply follow the main route of the AZT along Schultz Creek. Only the Equestrian Bypass is impacted by this closure. The trail is expected to remain closed for most of 2016, or until forest thinning activities have been completed. Please stay out of the area for your own safety and respect the closures. The end result will be a healthier forest less likely to be destroyed in a catastrophic wildfire, helping to protect the Arizona Trail for future generations.
