New snake bite treatment hoping for approval

The UofA College of Medicine is starting a lengthy testing process of a new venomous snake bite treatment. The new treatment
"would delay or prevent some of the most serious consequences".
It is
". . . intended to prevent or delay the destruction of fibrinogen, an essential protein that enables blood to clot".
The destruction by venom of fibrinogen is one of the elements that increases the risk of internal bleeding.
"the product could be stocked in ambulances or included in first aid kits".

That sounds promising, especially if it doesn't require refrigeration or cool temperatures for storage.
