LCR Salt Trail and Cameron Permits Office

Does anyone have any experience trying to get a last-minute permit for the LCR gorge at the Cameron Navajo Parks office? I'm hoping to get one for this weekend, but I will be arriving after 5pm on Friday, and it looks like they're not open Saturdays. Also, their listed phone number is not working (I've tried multiple days and times).
Any advice on this would be much appreciated, thank you!

Note that the Navajo Nation DOES observe Daylight Savings Time, so right now 5pm on the reservation is 4pm in the rest of Arizona! But it's open an hour earlier than you think in the morning ;)

As long as they're open there should be no issues getting a permit. It's pretty low key, I've never been asked any questions or gotten the impression that there are quotas or limits, they just what to know who's going where. And collect some $ of course.

Thanks! But they're closed on Saturday so looks like I'm out of luck. Next time I'll try take a half day on Friday and get there before close ;)

There are no problems except getting there when they are open, they sometimes close for extra long lunch breaks, and seem to close rather early in the day in summer. They were talking about implementing online reservations, but I don't know if anything came of it. But if the office is open they really don't ask questions, you just sign off and pay.
