The article says that in addition to the tools, "They will also receive a guide on pruning and cutting vegetation encroaching on the trail corridor". I'm willing to furnish my own tools and gloves (and time and sweat), but I could use the guidance on the best ways to trim. For example, is it best to cut down at ground level, or just the part sticking into the trail? What's the best way to trim cactus? Can I just let the trimmings fall, or do I need to throw them off the trail?

Seems like it would be helpful if the guide could be made available to everyone on the aztrail website.

I agree a basic guide to trimming would be helpful. But short of that:

1. Take it off at the bottom... if the shoot is sticking into the trail now, it will again later.
2. Throw the trimmings well off the trail to the downhill side, if there is one.
