Anyone up for a 6-11-16 Flagstaff trip

We'd leave N. Phoenix about 5 AM arriving in Flag about 7:30 A.M. Choice of Elden, or over to Bill Williams Mtn. etc. Guest's choice...
I could be talked into a Friday drive up and car (actual car as my wife and kids have my SUV on vacation in FL) camp as well although Friday's weather doesn't look great.

Yes, but as much as I hate traffic, I don't think I want to get caught up in that coming back Sunday PM. Also my family are getting back into town Sunday after having been gone for 2+ weeks.

I'm already committed to doing something in Flagstaff that day or I'd be up for it. Running a trail race up there.

I just hiked today to the top of Bill Williams Mtn., via the Benham Trail. It's 90 degrees here in Williams, was a wee bit cooler on top.

I'm heading up Friday after work, and car camping at the trail head of Weatherford, up early sat to inner basin and then back out to camp overnight. Anyone interested in joining or groups heading out?

@bergevinal
Just an FYI- the Weatherford Trail is currently closed between Shultz Tank and the Kachina Trail due to logging/thinning operations.

I honestly never saw the day where I'd be accused of hiking late, LOL!

Who is Denny?
FWIW, I'm going to say this with the knowledge that doing so invites ridicule/inside jokes/veiled references that only the 'cool kids' get. I've pretty much given up on HAZ as anything other than an informational aide. The social aspect of it, meeting new people, being willing to show new people old places, meaning, welp, you may not get to take the epic adventure, but you could show someone new/else a good time, is kaput. It just won't happen on here because everyone is too stuck up each others pumpkins to actually be willing to meet new people or try new things, be willing to mentor new people, make new friends, etc. The hiking pace argument holds zero water with me as its very easy to see other triplogs and it even calculates pace on here. It's just outdoor snobbery which is rampant in the outdoor industry at large, and it carries over here.
Or maybe I'm just a

but I don't think so.
Two people on HAZ have consistently been willing to meet and hike with me. And I'm grateful and thankful for it.
And FWIW, @joebartels I don't hold you responsible for the larger group's lack of openness/friendliness/willingness to break out of their cliques. At all. You can't control others' behavior and I completely understand that.
And no, I'm not leaving...

@JasonCleghorn
I can't speak for others, but when I read posts like that I think to myself "Wow. That person must be a real bundle of joy to hike with!"
:-({|=
I also know that an online persona doesn't always match up with when you meet somebody in person.
BTW - Denny is tortoise_hiker. I met him once. It's understandable that you wouldn't know his name if you hadn't previously met/hiked with him.

I had been eying this event all week, but commitment is a scary thing for me. Would be willing to go if you still want to.

Thanks @jochal , but I'm retiring from the Creating Hike Event bidness... Nothing to do with you but after I think my 3-4th one with zero interest because they weren't Everest without oxygen, I'm done.
