Does anyone know if any of the trails in the Superstition Mtns area still have good wildflowers to look at? (or anywhere near PHX)

I have never hiked there. Which trail(s) would you recommend in general and for wildflower(or both!)?

There was a great field on the hillside of Dutchman #104 from the south end a mile after it rises from the Bluff Spring junction, but before the Red Tanks turnoff.
From the other end the west side of Black Top Mesa is well represented.
Both these are on steep slopes that get relief from the constant sunshine. They were covered a week ago, and should still show some good signs with the cooler weather and recent sprinkle.

Went to the Christopher Creek Gorge Monday Apr 7th and the sides of the road on the Beeline Highway were full of Poppies, in yellow and dark gold, and also the tall kind of stalky reds and purples. It was just gorgeous and there were fields of them . Don't know if they are still in bloom, but there should be some left there. Unfortunately,I had my 35mm,instead of digital,so cannot post pics. (Duh)

The cactus (hedge hog to be precise) are already in bloom along the road to Roger's Trough trailhead. The poppies and lupine ae doing well on the steep hillsides here, too.

Try the Ford Canyon/ Mesquite loop. About halfway through the hike, there is wildflower everywhere. May have to wait for next season now though, it's probably going to be too hot after this week.

There were a lot of wild flowers the first few miles to Reavis Ranch.
