This now has become a fatality, since, despite having been reported as still walking, the 17-year-old has died.

Data shows that 106 strikes hit the ground around the Humphreys Peak near Flagstaff between noon and 1 p.m. Wednesday.
There were nearly 400 cloud-to-cloud strikes in the same time period.

Does anyone have any information on the survivors?!? If so, could you please put them in touch with me? After surviving being struck last year and loosing a group member, unfortunately, I know exactly what they are going through and want to help. Please let me know if anyone knows them...

I am guilty ... one of my trips up Humphreys was one of the scariest hikes of my life because I decided to tag the summit despite lightning. I first started to turn back from the final climb, then changed my mind and turned and sprinted to the top, and immediately back down. Some people watching from a bit lower commented and we laughed as I passed them on the way back down ... I think they were still going up too.
I look back on it and just shake my head - one of many very risky decisions that I got away with when I was younger.

Sad ending of course but a very nice story and I loved the way they revealed his picture at the end. And at least the other two boys survived so it could have been worse.
