Motorcycle Safety In Pine or Horton Creek Trail Heads

Hello everyone, this coming weekday im planning on doing a 3-4 day hike , not sure yet if im going to do the horton creek loop or just start at pine trail head and catch the highline trail east (not completing the trail) and come back the same way, as transportation to the trail heads from Phx im planning to take my motorcycle, im guessing horton creek trail head is safer as its more crowded , not too worried about my motorcycle not being there when i get back more on theft on my saddle bags which i will have my riding gear , i do have a cover and that helps some lol. I do have a vehicle and i just my use that as well , have any of you had bad experiences at the trail heads with your motorcycle.

The parking lot for Horton Creek is right across the street from the campground which also has an official campground host so I would guess crime is pretty low. Since its just a motorcycle, maybe the host would be nice and let you stash it in the campground.

Plenty of things can happen to a car that's parked at a trailhead for a few days. Break-in, dead battery, flat tires, broken window, a tree could fall on it, bears could get in looking for food, hail storm, local kids could use it for an art project... etc.
Backpacking is fun. There could always be a surprise when you get back!

I haven't heard of any problems at those trailheads. It's possible for something to happen, but not likely. The whole area is fairly low crime. There are some issues (generally related to drugs and/or poverty) but it is nothing like the big city. Your bike is probably safer parked at the trailhead than it would be in the average big city mall parking lot.
I'd lock the bike to a tree with a good quality cable and lock (stops someone from driving off with it in the bed of a truck on a whim) and otherwise not worry too much.
FWIW, I've parked quads at the Horton Creek trailhead a number of time (it's quad riding distance from my house). No problem.
