Vandals destroy Death Valley's Racetrack

Attached is a link to a photographers nightmare when he drove to the famous Racetrack area of Death Valley. From tipping over rock monuments to driving on the racetrack, the vandals have no respect for the wonders of nature.

Unfortunately, Death Valley as a whole presents little or no obstacle to vandalism. Everything is easily accessible and for the most part unguarded. It's a vast area with minimal staffing, apart from the visitor center.

Too bad I wasn't there. Know some nearby deep mineshafts that would work perfectly.

A recent article in our local Las Vegas paper (http://m.reviewjournal...) indicates the park may have some kind of lead.

Also of interest, it shows a schematic map of where the tracks occur on the playa - basically the entire length :(
