Maricopa Night Warrior

The weather looks to be perfect for a SoMo night hike, and I've never hiked the Warrior Trail.
Maricopa Peak is a gem and that's the plan via the Alta Trail which follows the ridge of the Ma Ha Tuak Range. Fantastic views of the city lights the whole way.
Wednesday, October 5
Start time 6:30p from the Warrior Trailhead on 19th Ave (2 miles south of Baseline). We should be back at the TH between 9 and 10pm.
~6.5 miles including a little reverse lasso on Ma Ha Tuak.
~2000 feet of gain.
Proposed route:

Sunset: 6:06pm
Moonset: 9:14pm (19% waxing crescent)
Forecast: 80F at the start, dropping to low 70s by finish time.

This route is a blast. I have run portions of it before. Hard to follow without GPS but doable.

@ultrazona
You should come. It's been too long since I've watched you run circles around me on a trail!

I'm looking forward to driving 24 miles each way just to end up on a peak that's 3 miles from my house.

We'll get to the Kofas and Harquahala this winter. You can do Union anytime. The others are a bit more complicated.
Speaking of which, while looking at your list I saw this MA:
http://hikearizona.com/map.php?X=19
Where did that come from, and how are Quartz, Superstition and Goldwater on the list -- along with A-Mountain!

but not Goat Hill or Maricopa Peak? Seems very arbitrary!

Looks fun. I haven't done a night hike for a long time. Not much of a moon so trail may be a bit dark.

There's a pretty bright city right next to the trail. And I usually carry a light at night.

It'd be nice to meet you if you can make it!

@Tortoise_Hiker If that wouldn't result in my not getting home until close to midnight, I would actually consider just hiking from my house! In fact, I've done that a couple of times. But, I have to wake up early on Thursday morning.
