"The agreement to transport some 5,000 to 6,000 desert plants from one botanical garden in Arizona to another is a hugely impressive endeavor"...........................

This is an amazing project! I have been working with a few of the folks involved in the move, numbers alone don't tell the story. Some of these plants are mature specimen Yuccas, Saguaros, and other large succulents. These plants are all individually root trimmed and boxed (a few bare-root too) and then carefully moved the hour+ drive out to Superior. It will probably take the BTA a good few years to find homes for all of these plants in their ample acreage. Glad to see the Wallace Garden collection got our of a private residence where none could see (they were out of funds anyway...) and put in to one of the single best institutions for natural science and preservation we have in Arizona.
