On Tuesday, Jan 28, I drove FS 287 into Miles TH to check water in Pinto Creek. I drove a 2000 Chevy Venture Van- no problem getting in an out.
No water flowing in Pinto Creek. Spring just east of Miles TH did have water.

This is my first post on HikeArizona. I am now officially part of the group!!

I didn't recognize him at first, but I know Trew from another forum and hiked with him up Picketpost a while back. I just updated my triplog accordingly. Welcome Trew!

Thinking of base camping at the Miles Ranch TH this week for some loop hikes - anyone know the current condition of the road? Thanks.

I can't speak to currently, but I've been on that road a couple times in bad weather with no problems in a standard rental car. Some big puddles develop in the parking area, so I'd avoid parking in the obvious low spots.

Thanks - I drove there in November for a backpacking trip, just looking for a current road report.

Drove this on 3/3 and 3/4. TH is about 12.5 miles from US60. First 4-5 miles or so are paved leading to and around mine. The rest of the way is in great shape. Any vehicle with clearence will make it no problem. I’d say small passenger cars could make it, if driven carefully.

I'm looking for a recent road report for FS 287A - I'd like to so some hikes from the Miles Ranch TH. I have a 4wd high clearance Sportsmobile.

Any update on 287A to Miles for 2024? I plan to go at the end of March with a Subaru and a rental van.

I guess the post from Nov 2023 should still be pretty valid though.

Thanks!
Steve

Was out there today and the road is in worse shape than before, but still likely possible with the rigs you mentioned.

A Subaru 'could' possibly make it, but will be a slow drive. Depending on how some of the recent rains impacted the road.
