HELP! Englishman looking for trails and fellow hikers

Hey guys, Im traveling (have just started) around USA and Ill be in Flagstaff the first week of April.
Im really keen to meet people and get out on a trail, either some 1 days or a multiday. Any links to maps, trails or any info would be appreciated.
I have no transport (im hoping hitch hiking will work for me) so any trails with easy access from flagstaff would be best or if you want to join me that would be even better!!!
