Aspidoscelis (Cnemidophorus) tigris Common Names:Whiptail Lizard
Habitat:Arid and semi-open woodlands and Desert Scrub areas. Usually found in open, grassy areas. Widespread southwest distribution from Mexico into parts of Texas, and New Mexico. Found in most parts of Arizona, Utah, California, and Nevada, north to parts of Idaho and Oregon. Description:Brown to gray/brown lizard with faint stripes and gray or black blotches. Long, thin, brown tail. Juveniles have a bright blue tail that turns brown as the Lizard ages. Pointed snout and may have black or dark areas in chest area.
