Paroaria coronata Common Names:Red-crested Cardinal
Habitat:Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry shrubland and heavily degraded former forest. It is found in northern Argentina, Bolivia, southern Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay. It has also been introduced to Hawaii and Puerto Rico. Description: Red Head with prominent Crest, Red Throat and Upper Breast. Gray above and White below. Comments:It was formerly placed in the Family, Emberizidae, and notwithstanding its common name, it is not very closely related to the true cardinals (family Cardinalidae). Source: Wikipedia |
