Common Names:Goshawk

Habitat:Widespread resident throughout Alaska, Canada and most of the Continental Western States except for Southern California. Prefers Mountainside Coniferous Forests, but is moving towards spending more time in Deciduous Forests as well. Winters in Farmlands, Woodland Edges and more Open Country.

Description:A robust Hawk with bold White Eyebrow, long, narrow Tail and short Wings. Adults are Blue/Gray above with Black Crown. Pale underpart with fine Gray Barring. Juveniles are similar in size and shape, but Brown above with heavy streaking below.
