Leucophaeus atricilla Laughing gulls are common along the shores of the Atlantic. They can be found in Europe as well. The laughing gull's English name is derived from its raucous kee-agh call, which sounds like a high-pitched laugh "ha... ha... ha...". They have dark grey wings. Adults may have black head and a black hood. Black hoods, however, can be lost in winter. They have black feet and beaks, but beaks can be red. It's a mid-size bird. (source wikipedia) |
