Linum grandiflorum (syn. L. coccineum)

from Wikipedia: Linum grandiflorum (syn. L. coccineum) is a species of flax known by several common names, including red flax, scarlet flax, and crimson flax. It is native to Algeria, but it is known elsewhere in Northern Africa, Southern Europe and in several locations in North America as an introduced species.
The flower has 5 red petals each up to 3 centimeters long and stamens tipped with anthers bearing light blue pollen

Linum grandiflorum var. rubrum is a ultra-hardy, annual which blooms during Mid March - April. Each solitary red - scarlet bloom only lasts about a day, but new blooms are often produced with foliage about a foot high.
