Common Names: Many-Headed Barrel
Habitat: rocky slopes, and arid regions of the Mojave and Sonoran Deserts; western and northern Arizona
Flowers: light yellow with pink mid-ribs
Description: forms large mounds, with up to one hundred stems; dense, whitish to reddish spines, sometimes hooked
Comments: a common cactus of Grand Canyon National Park
