Looking E from below the ruins, western facing slopes with multiple noticeable drainages coming down the slopes and converging on the main creek. This is Tonto National Forest land and connects to a much higher elevation further E, and that also is a habitat for Elk. The immediately visible terrain is good whitetail landscape with Bobcats or Mountain lions being the other primary predators in the area.
