Chinle revealed.
Thickness 400 to 1,000 feet. Overlain, unconformably(?), by Wingate sandstone and underlain, unconformably(?), by Shinarump conglomerate. The Chinle contains the fossil forests. Named for Chinle Valley, northeastern Arizona. Age is Late Triassic.
