There is some deadfall from pine beetle kill. Most has been cleared. Older maps show this to be a junction with a trail named either Otto or Lake Katherine #242 that no longer exists. Or actually that trail exists but the old alignment of Skyline #251 doesn't exist anymore and has taken over the name of the old #242. Got it? (For two miles from this point down to the junction that leads to Stewart Lake or down to Winsor Creek Trailhead, Skyline and Winsor share the same trail -- a second route that appears on old topo maps does not appear to exist anymore).
