Obviously not a hike, but a view of the aurora from the backyard of my house in Hayden, which is just north of Coeur d'Alene. It was not even fully dark yet when the aurora was already visible, which surprised me. There was some really good color between about 7-8 pm, then again around 10-11 pm, but the color was visible all night from 7pm until about 5am.
