It was threating to rain causing me to take quick action which usually immediately stops the rain - I put on my full rain gear, and it worked. Photo courtesy of a backpacker hanging out at his camp while his wife explored the trails beyond Blue Lake on a day hike. I explained to him my plan to continue on to Baboon Lakes. He asked what time I started the hike and when I told him, he said "At that rate you'll never make it to Baboon Lake and back before dark. If you don't have a head lamp you should turn back now." Good advice which I followed.
