Boundary Butte is a 4,934-foot (1,504 meter) sandstone summit located south of Lake Powell, in Utah, just north of the Arizona border. Buttes are tall, flat-topped, steep-sided towers of rock created through erosion. They were once part of flat, elevated areas of land known as mesas or plateaus.
