Karl models the logjam. A significant portion of the wood has been cut into small logs. I like Oregon Hiker's theory that they were blocking the spillway and were cut into smaller pieces to more easily exit the lake and flow downstream. But there was also a surprising number of trees that had been chainsawed along the bottom of the canyon as well (seemingly unrelated to current thinning projects on the ridges above).
