In 1923-25 the Pacific Coast Borax Company constructed this originally to be a recreation hall/theater built at the northeast end of the company town complex used as a community center for dances, church services, movies, funerals, and town meetings; Marta Becket gave her first performance in the Amargosa Opera House theater on February 10th, 1968.
