peekaboo! trying to catch a glimpse of the summit. we're only 100 feet from it right here, but there's so much snow that we can't guarantee a safe route. don't want to accidentally fall through it to the other side. we go down from here and try to edge back around the snow, which has turned to slush at this point in the day.
